2022 has been a whirl of year so far, with opportunities and challenges galore. We've been working hard at 5 Kites HQ, but struggled to find the time to write all about it.*
One of our many successes is the rapid growth of our Consultancy arm, working with IB schools to assist in the setting up and running of the International Baccalaureate.
At the end of March of this year, 5 Kites Founder and Co-Director Amal Hirani,
went to Hastings School in Madrid, who had just received authorisation to run the DP starting September 2022.
The school wanted to use Amal's experience to make sure that everything was in place and also to learn how to make the transition smooth.
Hastings School has a successful sixth form with 180 students. Their fIrst IB cohort will be approximately 30 students. The school also offer the A-Level syllabus.
Amal spent two full days meeting with students and staff from across the school to observe, listen and to learn what they were doing and how a consistent approach between departments could result in a successful programme implementation.
Amal concluded that the school was very well prepared, enthusiastic, and ready to go.
He noted that the students who choose the International Baccalaureate over the A-Level programme are likely to be natural risk takers: something the IB actively promotes.
Amal will continue to support remotely over the next months as Hastings School launches its brand new IB programme.
All best wishes to all the staff, students, families and school team in this exciting and rewarding adventure.
